Professional Info

I'm by far and large, a programmer.  Programming is my passion: I love the power to create equations and functions that solve problems.  It's taking math a step further; it's not the using a function over and over that makes my world revolve, it's creation of such a function.

Skills

Programming is programming. And where it counts, you'd call me an applications developer. But if you're curious what dialects of computer language I know, here's a short list:

  • Javascript
  • PHP
  • Python
  • Java
  • SQL
  • Ruby
  • [insert more acronyms here...]

About this Site

Purpose

I use this web-site to express my interests in programming. The biggest part is the blog, where I document findings of some of my research, share my opinions on software and the web, give updates on software that I've written, and rant on people that I disagree with.

This is also where I keep some pages about software projects I've worked on. It's sort of like a code portfolio, if you will.

Mostly, this site is made to try it's darndest to represent my online persona.

Technology

This site was built with web standards in mind. The back-end is powered by a powerful and expressive CMS called Blazonco. The design was made by my own 2 hands (and Komodo IDE). The Javascript is mostly written in MooTools, with the rare YUI in there as well. This site shouldn't be completely broken in IE6, but it sure doesn't play nice. The computer used to construct this site runs Windows 7, happily.

Web Developer

A web developer is a software developer or software engineer who is specifically engaged in the development of World Wide Web applications, or distributed network applications that are run over the HTTP protocol from a web server to a web browser.

While I like developing software for the desktop or mobile platforms as well, I simply feel that web software allows for the largest impact. You don't have to pick a side in the OS wars, and you don't have to worry about software updates.

Personal Info

I'm a 22 year-old web guy from Orange County, California. I take care of anything web-related, and lots of time can't tell the difference between when I'm working, and when I'm having fun learning new things about the web.

Between playing games, getting lost in lines of code, and boring my friends with my newest geek info, I'm enjoying life with my ever-laughing Diana.
