I vote that because of the amount of "magic" we achieve using Javascript and server-side programming, we should be called developers no more!

This book goes into useful detail about finer things in Javascript. Excellent intermediate level book for programmers. It goes into topics such as function invocation patterns, prototypal inheritance models and usage, and constructors.
